Skyscraper

A skyscraper ad is a tall, vertical banner ad typically displayed along the side of a webpage. The format gets its name from skyscraper buildings because of its narrow and elongated shape. Skyscraper ads are often placed in the left or right sidebar of a webpage, next to the main content.

While skyscraper ads were originally fixed in size (most commonly 120×600 or 160×600 pixels), modern versions are often responsive, adjusting to fit different screen sizes and page layouts. They can include static images, animations, or interactive media and may appear on both websites and apps.

Skyscrapers are often "sticky ads," which stay visible as you scroll down the page.

Like other types of banner ads, skyscrapers are designed to provide advertising revenue for websites and traffic for advertisers. When clicked or tapped, they typically direct users to the advertiser's landing page or website.
