Per Christensson

Per Christensson is the founder and managing editor of TechTerms.com. He launched the website in 2005 with the goal of making computer terminology easy to understand. Nearly twenty years later, the website's focus remains the same.

Per has authored over 1,500 definitions, including hardware, software, Internet terms — and everything in between. He enjoys explaining computer terms in a way that makes sense to those without a technical background, often using real-life examples and analogies.

Per's interest in computers began at a young age when his parents bought the first family computer — a Macintosh Performa 637CD. He quickly progressed from using the computer to understanding how it worked and troubleshooting hardware and software issues. In 1995, he established his first connection to the Internet through a 2400 baud dial-up modem. He published his first website in 1997.

In high school, Per put his technical skills to use working for CompUSA. During his college years, he worked for the residential network (ResNet) and a local web hosting company. After college, he was employed by Apple for several years before starting his own web development company, Sharpened Productions. He has been the president and senior editor at Sharpened Productions for over 20 years.

Education

Per graduated from Wheaton College, IL with a B.S. in Computer Science, a B.A. in Communications, and a minor in Economics.
